Journey from Anxiety to Mindfulness

Have you experienced anxiety?

It is normally followed by a sinking feeling followed by an angry outburst.

There could be many reasons to get you worked up. The list could be long and imaginative.

The reasons for anxiety are more imagined than real. Take a step back.

This anxiety is telling you to live in your problems.

Do not be its slave. Be mindful and live in the moment. Many of these problems which cause anxiety will not affect your life long-term. They are just like mosquitoes bugging you in the ear, squash them or ignore them, they have a lifespan of hours!

For that matter, there is nothing that can damage your life permanently. That is the beauty of impermanence and resilience. You can pick up from wherever you are and build something new and beautiful.

Is there anything you can actually do to improve and resolve the problem giving you anxiety? If you find the solution to be a waste of time or ineffective or you find yourself too lazy to do it - then the problem itself is not worth your time and pondering over it is an overkill! If you think of a solution, focus your energy on doing it and you will feel more positive.

Also, you can choose to do nothing.

Life is as it comes. Let it come and let it go.

Learn to observe these feelings of anxiety, self-doubt, fear, worry, and guilt from a distance.

Don’t let it get under your skin.

Know you are experiencing them and just like how a child gets up, and brushes the dust off her clothes when she falls, do the same with these feelings and walk again.

Doing this will not be simple.

Count your blessings. Spend some time with nature. 60 mins in a week to be precise.

Think of things that make you happy. Most likely, it would be experiences than things. Indulge in them. Pursue your hobbies. Do yoga and meditate. It magically brings peace to self. Be Kind.

There are reverse benefits of kindness in a happy fuller heart ❤️
